Linda Mock, Georgetown County Auditor

A native of Georgetown County, Mock has a long record of consistently serving her community in a variety of roles that have generated economic development, better housing, more public access, safety and planning of short and long term goals.
She is also known for her ability to lead in areas of administration, financial accountability and vision. In serving as auditor, Mock strives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and accessibility to the office. The staff excels in always serving the customer.
Mock’s past involvement has included executive director and board member of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce, executive director of Murrells Inlet 2007, Treasurer of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, and various roles in Habitat for Humanity, Midway Fire and Rescue, Georgetown County Democratic Party, former chair person of the county’s accommodations tax advisory committee, former president of the Georgetown County Board of Realtors, and former member of the board of directors of the Georgetown County Water and Sewer District and the county Economic Development Commission.
Mock is married to Mike Mock and has two stepchildren, two grandchildren.

Loretta D. Washington-Cooper, Treasurer/Tax Collector |  | | Loretta D. Washington-Cooper began her tenure with Georgetown County in April 1972. She worked her way up from File Clerk, to Accounting Clerk, then Deputy Treasurer serving in that area for ten years. She was appointed Treasurer in February 1990 by Governor Carroll A. Campbell to fill the unexpired term of her former boss. Since 1993 she ran and won each election as the county’s Treasurer.
Mrs. Washington-Cooper holds an Associate Degree in Business, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Webster University. She is married to Jonathan Cooper and has one son Johnny B. Washington, Jr. and three stepchildren. She is a member of Greater St. Luke Holiness Church where she serves as Church Administrator and YPD Director. She is the owner of Financial Finesse School for Men and Women. She is also the Financial Instructor for Habitat for Humanity. Her community activities include financial seminars and budgeting classes for limited resource families. She is a member of the South Carolina Auditors, Treasurers and Tax Collectors Association. |
