Department Functions:

To maintain all county-owned facilities, renovation of existing facilities, and the construction of new structures. The department also provides custodial services in a number of locations. The Division also provides electrical, carpentry, paint, masonry, and utility support.

Division News:
Within the past eight months, the Facility Services division of Public Services has over seen the moving of three separate facilities. These facilities have been completely set up and are functional. They include a new office and waiting area for First Vehicle Services as well as a new Education Facility for the public located at Hartwig Pond at the land fill. Finally the third one is serving as a new and upgraded training center at the Detention center. In addition a total of 6,000 square feet has been completely remodeled, to include new roof, new interior walls, a new dropped ceiling and complete new wiring at the Choppee Campus. This facility is to serve as a welding education center. The education center for the MIS Department was also completely remodeled, to include painting the interior and exterior as well as the exterior. New replacement windows were installed, as well as a new dropped ceiling and a new Heating and Air-conditioning system. A continuous program of upgrading of the Courthouse air-conditioning systems continues.
