The Clerk to Council prepares the agenda for County Council meetings; records and transcribes minutes of Council meetings; processes ordinances, resolutions, and proclamations; is the custodian of the County seal; maintains minute books and County Code of Ordinances; attests and certifies official documents on behalf of the County; prepares advertisements of public hearings, meetings and legal notices; and performs all duties as required by State Code and local ordinances.

December | GEORGETOWN COUNTY PARTNERS WITH COASTAL CAROLINA YMCA
Georgetown County Council and the Georgetown County Recreation and Leisure Service Department recently entered into a Facilities Use Agreement between the County and Coastal Carolina YMCA. The Agreement will allow the County to utilize the Kensington Soccer Fields during the fall 2007 soccer season at no charge to the County.
GEORGETOWN COUNTY DISCUSSES MASS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
County Council recently approved a recommendation from the Council Transportation Committee to consider a contractual agreement with Coast RTA, Waccamaw Regional Transit Authority, to provide mass public transportation within the Georgetown County area. The issue will be a topic of discussion during County Council’s upcoming meeting to discuss Capital Improvement Plan funding. The meeting will be scheduled in the near future.
COUNTY OFFERS STORMWATER UTILITY FEE CREDITS TO OWNERS OF QUALIFYING PARCELS
County Council recently adopted a Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Manual that establishes various credit mechanisms and the means and measures for identifying, issuing and obtaining credits by which non single family residential parcel owners may apply for and receive credit against their stormwater utility fee under specific conditions. The maximum amount of credit available is 70% of that parcel’s stormwater utility fee.
Credits may be permitted for parcels under the following conditions:
(1) Parcels covered by and compliant with an individual National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permitting Program.
(2) Providers of Stormwater education services may receive stormwater education credit
(3) Property developed using low impact development principles
(4) Use of porous (pervious) concrete technology
(5) Other controls or measures that reduce demand on the County stormwater system and program

Q: When and where does County Council meet?
A: County Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM. Meetings are held in County Council Chambers which is located on the second floor of the Georgetown County Courthouse. Deviations from the regular meeting schedule are announced in the local media. All meetings are open to the public.
