Plan Process · Project News · Upcoming Events · Links Transportation A Transportation Master Plan has been completed and County Council adopted the 2009 Revised Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan on June 9, 2009. Road list was approved by Council in December 2008. Contract for roadway improvement work was awarded on March 10, 2009. Sandy Island Realignment construction is scheduled to begin in September 2009. This is a SCDOT project. US 17 & Venture Drive intersection project is awaiting reinstatement of Advanced Construction Program. US 17 & Waverly Road intersection project is ready for construciton. Construction is expected to begin in September 2009 with completion anticipated in March 2010. Ongoing discussions of US701 & Wedgefield Road continue between SCDOT, the Georgetown Hospital System and adjoining property owners. This project is included in teh GSATS Draft TIP 2010-2015. US 17 Median improvements from Martin Luther King Road to Pawleys Island South Causeway are included in teh GSATS Draft TIP 2010-2015. Repairs to the Maintenance Hanger at the Georgetown County Airport were completed in February 2009. |
